Three Legged Music Limited Privacy and Cookies Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy and Cookies Policy relates to the use of any personal information Three Legged Music Limited (“TLM”) collects from you via the use of its website and accounts on other social media websites.  It also relates to the use of any personal information you provide to TLM by telephone, SMS, email, in letters and other correspondence and in person.

TLM is committed to safeguarding your personal information. Whenever you provide such information, we are legally obliged to use your information in line with all applicable laws concerning the protection of personal information (referred to collectively in this document as the "data protection laws"). 

2. Who is Three Legged Music Limited?

TLM is a small private limited company established in the Isle of Man in 2000 to promote music and songs written by Howard Prior and Neill Burgess that are primarily intended for use in worship within churches.  The company’s main business is from its website (www.threeleggedmusic.com) from which visitors worldwide can download songs and music free of charge, subject to the terms and conditions as stated on the website.  TLM owns the copyright of these songs and music (unless indicated otherwise) and collects the royalties which help to maintain the company and its website.

3. What information does TLM collect about me?

If you contact TLM by post, email or telephone it may then collect information such as your name, title, and the contact details you supply.  

If you enter into an agreement with TLM it may also be necessary for TLM to hold details such as pseudonyms, telephone numbers, bank details, agent details and agent bank details, tax identification numbers

If you visit TLM’s website, the website hosting company, based in the United Kingdom, collects industry standard data such as IP addresses of visitors and, where relevant, referring URLs.  This information is made available to TLM but TLM does not collect or process any such information in any way that can identify you and no personal information is required from you in order to download any of the material on its website.

Your information is stored in the Isle of Man and United Kingdom.

 

5. How does TLM use the information it collects about me?

TLM may use your personal information for a number of purposes including the following:

• to contact you about a communication from you;

• to deal with your requests and enquiries;

• (where you have entered into an agreement with TLM) for administration purposes, for example, to make a payment to you;

• to comply with government agencies and relevant law enforcement agencies as outlined in paragraph 7 and relevant company law;




6. Will TLM contact me?

As stated in paragraph 5, TLM may contact you to reply to a communication received from you.  If you have entered into an agreement with TLM it may contact you regarding administrative matters.  It may contact you to provide information in which you have expressed an interest or in which TLM thinks you might have an interest, for example a new song posted on the website, but only if you have previously provided us with your contact details.  TLM cannot contact you merely by virtue of a visit from you to its website.

TLM does not contact people for marketing purposes.  Therefore please be cautious if you receive any emails, calls or correspondence from people asking for personal information and claiming to be from TLM, particularly if the reason is because you have visited TLM’s website.


7. Does TLM share my personal information with anyone else?

TLM keeps your information within TLM and does not share it except in the following cases:

• where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to government bodies and law enforcement agencies, including for child protection reasons);

• where you have requested TLM or given your consent to do so;

• where you have entered into an agreement with TLM and it is necessary in order to honour the agreement and for TLM to fulfil its function (for example, publishing your name with an associated work or for administration purposes, for example, to make a payment to you);

• where it is required or permitted to comply with company law.


8. How long does TLM keep my information?

TLM holds your personal information on its systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant correspondence, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with TLM, or as long as is required by Isle of Man Company law or by government bodies or law enforcement agencies.  If TLM believes it may be beneficial to retain your information longer than is necessary it will write to you to inform you of the information it holds and request your consent that it continues to do so.


9. How can I find out what personal TLM holds about me?

Under Data Protection laws you have the right to request a copy of the personal information TLM holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. TLM will respond within one month of the receipt of the request.  TLM will use reasonable efforts consistent with its legal duty to supply, correct or delete personal information about you on our files.  Please address requests and questions about this or any other question about this Privacy and Cookies Policy using the contact information at paragraph 13.

TLM may request proof of identification from you in order to be sure that it is releasing information to the correct person.  TLM will advise you if this is required.


10. How does TLM use cookies?

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes a unique identifier that is sent to your computer, tablet or mobile phone (all referred to here as a "device") web browser from a website's computer and is stored on your device's hard drive. Each website can send its own cookie to your web browser if your browser's preferences allow it. Many websites do this whenever a user visits their website in order to track online traffic flows. The TLM website does not use cookies and therefore no information about your visit to the site is recorded by TLM.

The TLM website contains hyperlinks to TLM accounts on social media websites owned and operated by third parties. These third party websites have their own privacy policies and are likely to use cookies.  TLM therefore urges you to review their policies. They will govern the use of personal information you submit when visiting these websites, which may also be collected by cookies. TLM does not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy practices of such third party websites and your use of such websites is at your own risk.  TLM does not keep independent information of followers/subscribers on such social media websites.


11. What happens if there is a security breach?

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  As a result, although TLM strives to protect personal data, it cannot guarantee the security of any Internet communication or transmission. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with TLM is not secure, you should notify TLM of the problem immediately using the details in the “Contact TLM” section.

If TLM becomes aware of a breach of its systems impacting on the security of your personal information, it will inform you at the earliest opportunity describing the nature of the breach, the possible consequences and the measures being taken to remedy the situation in accordance with its procedures and applicable law.


12. What about changes to TLM's Privacy and Cookies Policy?

This Privacy and Cookies Policy may be updated from time to time so you may wish to check it each time you submit personal information to TLM. The most recent version will appear on this page.  If material changes are made to the Privacy and Cookies Policy, for example affecting how TLM would like to use your personal information, a more prominent notice will be provided and you may be contacted personally.
