Legged Music was set up in June 2000, and this website was launched in
January 2001.
We (Howard Prior and Neill Burgess) have been writing worship songs for some years, and we want to share them with Christians around the world. The internet allows us to do this in a new way. We've often felt frustrated at the hassle and expense involved in discovering and trying out new worship songs, so we are using the internet to let people hear/try out songs for free. Howard
Prior plays keyboards and
leads the worship at Broadway Baptist Church, Douglas on the Isle of
Man. Howard has also conducted choirs for some of Rick Wakeman's Isle of
Man concerts. In 1999, Rick and Howard published a number of
worship songs in the Hopesongs CD and book (available from Kevin Mayhew
Ltd, Buxhall, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 3DJ, England).
(For the uninitiated, the Isle of Man is an island in the Irish Sea, roughly equidistant from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Its distinctive flag includes the three legged symbol which inspired our name and which has been adapted for our logo.)

Neill Burgess is Howard's brother-in-law (the common factor being Kath, who is Howard's wife and Neill's sister). Neill plays guitar in the worship group at St Barnabas Church, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, in the north-east of England. Neill's wife, Tina, supplies the female vocals on this site. Neill is also the webmaster for this site, and warmly welcomes all constructive comments and suggestions. |
