Using the "Contemporary Worship" & "Hymns" PagesThese pages are the heart of the Three Legged Music site. They have similar formats, namely a table where each row represents one song. Next to each song title, there are three columns. Here's what each column means:
Lyrics. If you click on "View lyrics", then you will see the lyrics of the selected song from within your browser. If you want to, you can print these off or copy and paste them into your word processor for use later (but please be sure to retain the authorship and copyright lines in your copy). Where the lyrics are copyrighted by somebody other than ourselves - as is the case for some hymns - then the "lyrics" box may be empty for copyright reasons. In such a case, the lyrics can be found within the sheet music.
Guitar Chords (Contemporary Worship only). If you click on "View chords", then you will see the lyrics and guitar chords of the selected song from within your browser. If you want to, you can print these off or copy and paste them into your word processor for use later, but make sure you continue to use a fixed width font - otherwise the chords will no longer match up with the right words.
Audio. By clicking on the appropriate entry you can either listen on-line or download a song for listening to later. The "Lo-Fi MP3" link allows you to listen on-line even if you have slow 28k dial-up comms. Your computer should be set up with a default MP3 player which (if not already running) will launch when you click on the link. Note that these "listen on-line" Lo-Fi files are deliberately in mono and of fairly low audio quality (this is the price that has to be paid to allow them to play back OK on slow comms). The "Hi-Fi MP3" option is a direct link to a much higher quality stereo MP3 file. If you have fast comms such as broadband or better, then you should be able to listen on-line to these files, perhaps with a slight delay while the start of the file is downloaded. Whatever your comms speed, the Hi-Fi file is the one to download onto your hard-disk where it can be played at your leisure or even transferred to an MP3 player if you wish. If you are browsing the internet using Internet Explorer on a PC, then a right-click followed by choosing "Save Target as..." should allow you to download the file. Users of other software (and Mac users) may need to consult their browser documentation (or a friendly IT expert!).
Sheet Music. The entries in the "Sheet Music" column are direct links to sheet music files in Adobe Acrobat "PDF" format, and allow you to either view/print the sheet music on-line or download the selected song onto your computer for viewing/printing later. In order to view and print out the sheet music, you will need a popular, free piece of software called Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may well have a copy on your machine already, as many companies use it to distribute software manuals. The latest version can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website. Click here to find out more about downloading Acrobat Reader. If you are browsing the internet using Internet Explorer on a PC, then a left-click should launch Acrobat on-line (if it is not already running) and allow you to view/print the sheet music on-line, while a right-click followed by choosing "Save Target as..." should allow you to download the file. Users of other software (and Mac users) may need to consult their browser documentation (or a friendly IT expert!).

Using the "Links" PageThis page contains links to a number of web sites we have found useful/interesting. One of the best ways that internet users can help each other out is to share links to good sites. We've tried to be fairly selective. If you want to visit any of the recommended sites on the "Links" page - just click on any of the underlined text and your browser will take you there. |
